Avelino Sala and Maite Centol, Spain, and Hector Siluchi, Chile / Sweden show photos and video. In his work, the artist Avelino Salas has explored words such as “Socorro” (= help) and phrases such as “Watch the gap” (“Mind the gap” in the London Underground) and what they mean in another context. In the video work “Culture” (2008), some dogs eat the word “Culture” written from meat.

Maite Centol works with traces of human expression in the public sphere. In one performance, the artist painted over graffiti and other expressions in order to make room for future layers of history. In the exhibition, the artist shows the video installation “But I am optimistic” 2006/2007.

In his work, Hector Siluchi touches on issues of memory and identity from a personal perspective. In his video works, he wants to expose the cultural heritage and what is fundamental to the personal and national identity.
