“Hilma af Klint’s legacy of work is both large and multifaceted. The paintings on oil and tempera, the watercolours and the drawings together make up just over a thousand works. To choose around a hundred works from such a collection will of course be a personal selection. The idea is to show chosen parts of the artist’s production, from the turn of century to the last images from 1941. Several early paintings and around forty watercolours from her anthroposophist period are now shown for the first time. The work with exploring Hilma af Klint’s art and thoughts continue and through this exhibition we hope to add a new piece of understanding and engagement in this unusual artistry.”
