The place that has been given the role of case study in this exploratory project is Södertälje outer port. A place in constant change. Harbor warehouses and warehouses are empty and await demolition to make room for a large residential area, the most extensive detailed planning work in the city since the 1970s, when large parts of Södertälje’s inner city center were demolished to, among other things, make room for a large block containing the cultural center Lunagalleria.

The exhibition banale shows excerpts from the book “Banal buildings” and the case study of the buildings in Södertälje port and the connection to the coming deculturalization through the demolition of the Lunagalleria.
