Ivar Johnsson (1885–1970) was a sculptor and working as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Ivar Johansson became one of the leading sculptors in Sweden after Carl Milles and Johnsson were awarded the Sergel Medal in 1950.
The sculpture Mor och barn (Mother and child) was inaugurated in October 1957. It was placed in the Lagmansparken right next to Södertälje channel. Was relocated to Grusåsen next to Birkavägen, then got to stand in the warehouse for a while, but is now available in the Kanalparken.
