Nada Ali was born in 1988 and has a master’s degree in art from the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm and a bachelor’s degree in contemporary arts, specializing in mural painting, from the University of Damascus, Syria. She sees New Water as a metaphor for the constant change that takes place on an ancient land, in Korppudsparken.
The sculpture is cast in bronze and has a size of 2 x 2 meters. New Water is about embracing change. The shape of the sculpture represents a water wave, which can be a symbol of upcoming events, opportunities and challenges.
The new Korpuddsparken with New Water will be a landmark for boats passing through the Södertälje canal and for residents of Östertälje, a place where the city meets the sea.
